Our Story

On a cycle journey the length of South America, I grew tired of the consistent crash from coffee and artificial energy drinks. I discovered that local teas were a much more sustainable way to fuel my mission.

With the help of nutritional experts and after testing them out on a world record run across Iceland, we’ve now blended a range of highly functional, 100% natural blends for optimum performance.

Whatever your extraordinary dream might be, we’re here to fuel it.

Ethics

An ethical approach is something we want to ensure is always at the heart of our business. Here are the promises we’re currently keeping to do our bit:

  • We will only source ingredients from estates and farms where environmental sustainability and social standards are taken seriously. Each estate or farm is individually assessed by our team of experts before we do any business with them.
  • All of our products are vegan, including our protein matchas.
  • All of our pyramid tea bags are made from biodegradable corn starch, a material developed in Japan.
  • Due to the quality of teas sometimes not coming up to scratch, not all of our products are organic but they are always 100% natural and tested against pesticides.
  • We walk, jog or cycle to work. Every little counts.

Ingredients

This is where we stand out. Every single ingredient in our products has been carefully selected by a leading team of nutritionists and tea tasters to create the most effective, best tasting blends.

Our teas will always be 100% natural.

Mission Tea Ingredients

Energise: Cocoa + Ginger Biodegradable Pyramid Bags

Chunmee Green Tea

Green tea is respected as the healthiest source of caffeine available. It is associated with a calmer energy boost, avoiding the crash that your coffee inevitably brings whilst increasing adrenaline and perceived fatigue. Green tea contains the unique polyphenol EGCG, a powerful antioxidant associated with increased metabolism and free radical fighting properties.

Ginger

Ginger is known to aid digestion and associated with decreased muscle soreness from exercise due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Gingerol, the bioactive substance in fresh ginger, can also help lower the risk of infections.

Cocoa Nibs

Carrying a small amount of caffeine and more antioxidant power than both blueberries and goji berries makes cocoa nibs the perfect ingredient for kickstarting the day. Cocoa is also rich in polyphenols, which improves brain function.

Beetroot

Nitrates in beets improve mental and cognitive function by promoting the dilation of blood vessels and thus increasing blood flow to the brain.

Green Cardamom

Green Cardamom is a member of the ginger family and well known to aid digestion. It gets its reputation as a mild stimulant from cineole, a substance which stimulates the central nervous system.

Mission Tea Ingredients

Focus: Guarana + Beetroot Matcha Sticks

Ceremonial Grade Japanese Matcha Green Tea

Nobody can stop talking about this powdered form of green tea because when the whole leaf is ingested, the body is able to absorb a much higher proportion of its super ingredients. Matcha is high in L-theanine (5 x more than regular green tea), an amino acid that helps your body process caffeine differently – giving you a sustained energy boost without any jitters. Matcha is also high in catechins that help burn fat for energy instead of muscle. It also contains 137 x the antioxidant power of regular green tea.

Guarana

The berries of this Amazonian plant have a healthy caffeine content. However, the red berries stimulate the central nervous system at a slower rate than that of coffee, providing sustainable energy, mental clarity and focus.

Cayenne

Associated with increased metabolism, improved digestion and stimulated circulation, this Latin American spice is our favourite wake up call.

Pea + Rice Protein

A vegan godsend. Pea and rice protein contain different essential amino acids and when combined create a similar profile to whey without the added side effects or ingredients.

Ginger

Ginger is known to aid digestion and associated with decreased muscle soreness from exercise due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Gingerol, the bioactive substance in fresh ginger, can also help lower the risk of infections.

Beetroot

Nitrates in beets improve mental and cognitive function by promoting the dilation of blood vessels and thus increasing blood flow to the brain.
